As an artist,I have put in a lot of effort to make my drawings and paintings life like. Infact, i am still learning with each new painting i create ,the key elements for rendering a dynamic looking 3D kind of sketches and paintings.
Here are two human face sketches done with two different techniques of sketching.
Line Drawing:
Chiarascuro:
Chiarascuro is a method of drawing in which no lines are drawn to render a sketch on paper. Instead forms of light and shadows are drawn to render the whole sketch. This is a difficult way to choose for your sketching and painting,but totally worth the effort.This method dates back to Renaissance,golden age of Arts in Europe.

My recommendations for a wonderful looking,smoky face sketch:
Quit Line Drawing : Line drawing doesnt evoke any emotion for the viewer. Its flat and cant keep the viewer attention.
Learn and practice Chiarascuro: Assuming you are an Artist like me and want to improve your skills everytime you create a peice of Art,then definitely it is for you to try.
