3 Easy Steps on How to draw a realistic human Eye

Here is a tutorial and description on how to draw a realistic human eye in Chiaroscuro Technique.

I will demonstrate how to draw a realistic looking human eye.For this sketch you will need the following materials:

1- Charcoal paper in Pottery Grey color
2- 2B ,6B Pencils
3- Kneaded Eraser
4- Blending Stumps

STEP 1: How to draw the basic Underlying Shape and form

Create the basic shape of an eye, keeping in mind the underlying shapes and forms. The orbicular cavity or Eye socket in which eye is set is somewhat rectangular and the Orbit or Eye ball is a sphere.Draw basic shapes first ,dont worry about neatness and detail at this stage.Just draw the basic form you are seeing in front of you.

Once you have drawn in the basic forms, its time to go for details which differs from person to person.

STEP 2: Hold your pencil like an Artist

Learn to  hold 2b pencil between your thumb and first two fingers.Dont hold the pencil like you are writing! Hold like an Artist. Using the side of you pencil lead establish lights and darks for your drawing along with the eye form .

STEP 3: Blend with your fingers or blending stumps

Using blending stump or your fingers soften any hard lines you might have created in the process of drawing.Take kneaded eraser and stroke it once or twice to create the highlight on your eye.
